Speaking
Hospitality speaking rooted in lived experience, operator reality and the belief that belonging is independent hospitality’s competitive advantage.
Cassie Davison speaks about independent hospitality from the inside.
Her keynote is built around the ideas in Stand Out Hospitality and the reality of what it takes to run businesses that people love.
It is not a generic hospitality talk. It is not a list of quick fixes. It is a clear, human and practical keynote about why independent hospitality matters, what operators are really carrying, and why belonging, standards, story and identity are commercial advantages.
Cassie speaks at conferences, trade shows, supplier events, leadership forums, partner events, roundtables and business events for audiences that want to understand independent hospitality, customer-facing SMEs and founder-led businesses more clearly.
The keynote
Cassie’s keynote is anchored in one central belief:
Belonging is independent hospitality’s competitive advantage.
Independent hospitality is not just about food, drink, beds or service. It is about the feeling of a place, the personality behind it, the standards that hold it together, the team that brings it to life and the customers who come back because something about it feels like theirs.
That matters now because operators are under pressure, customers are changing, teams are stretched and the industry is being pulled towards faster, noisier and more automated ways of working.
Cassie’s message is clear: independent hospitality does not need to become less human to survive. It needs to become more intentional about the humanity that makes it matter.
What the keynote explores
The talk brings together the core themes of Stand Out Hospitality: why independent hospitality still matters, what operators are really carrying, why people keep doing this work even when it is hard, how belonging becomes a commercial advantage, why standards are an expression of care rather than perfection, and how story, identity and loyalty shape businesses people come back to.
Every talk is shaped around the audience and the room.
For operators, it helps people feel seen, reconnect with what they are building and think more clearly about what matters next.
For suppliers, funders and sector organisations, it offers a clearer understanding of how independent operators think, decide, respond and prioritise.
For wider business audiences, independent hospitality becomes a powerful case study in customer-facing, purpose-led and founder-led business.
The subject may shift, but the spine stays the same: operator reality, commercial clarity and the emotional truth of why hospitality and small businesses matter.
